Mat pilates will typically use your body weight as resistance (or some props like magic circles or pilates balls). The reformer machine offers increased resistance with springs and straps/pulleys (and sometimes weights). This information is written for the Studio 70 website.
It also has an unstable sliding base, which can mean the classes are more challenging or can offer increased complexity in movement. One is not better than the other, but you might find you prefer one more the other.

We open our studio no more than 15 minutes before class begins. We recommend coming along 10 minutes early if you’ve never been before to make sure you have enough time to find us, park, walk in etc.
Please note, we lock our doors on time when we begin class. This ensures students belongings are secure, that we have adequate time for a warm up and that we don’t compromise the beginning and finish times (and potential subsequent roll on affect) of our schedule. We do not admit anyone after class starts for these reasons. We also understand that life can happen and do try to balance small business life with compassion.

If a class is full we still recommend booking onto the waitlist. If a space opens up you’ll automatically be added to the class up to 2 hours before the class begins.
We recommend managing your waitlisted classes according to our cancellation policy above. Just cancel out with more than 12 hours if your plans change.
